Permission for new house at Monkleigh

Erection of a house whose design is described as ‘uncompromisingly contemporary in appearance and will contrast sharply with the traditional cottages in the vicinity’ is to be permitted at Monkleigh.

The Minister of Housing and Local Government has allowed the appeal of Miss Audrey Williams, of 1 Coronation Place, Shebbear, against the refusal of Bideford Rural District Council, acting on behalf of Devon County Council, to permit the erection of the house.
