Annual General Meeting of Save the Children Fund

Westcountry delegates to the annual general meeting of the Save the Children Fund held recently at 10 Downing Street are pictured below.

Safety-first diplomas awarded to Torrington drivers

Safe drivers at Torridge Vale Dairy

Of the fifty or so lorry drivers employed by the Torridge Vale Dairy, Torrington, 28 were eligible during 1948 for National Safety First Diplomas, the conditions being that the driver must be on the road for not less than forty-four weeks during the year without accident of any sort.

11 November 1949 Safety first diplomas awarded to Torrington drivers

Of these 28, no less than 23 qualified for the awards, a fine record of careful driving.
