Mr D G Pengilly and Miss J M Sanders at Langtree Parish Church
The wedding has taken place of Mr Dennis George Pengilly, only son of Mr and Mrs G Pengilly, 41 Old Town, Bideford, and Miss Joan May Sanders, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs J Sanders, South View, Stibb Cross. The bridegroom is a playing member of Northam AFC. The Rector, Rev R A Wallington, officiated at the service and Miss Boundy accompanied the hymns. The two senior bridesmaids were Misses Pat Curtis and Vonnie Johnson, the small bridesmaid was Carol Wood and the page boy, Michael Burch. Best man was Mr Michael Botting and the ushers were Messrs R Langston and Colin Wood.
Following a reception at the Globe Hotel, Torrington, Mr and Mrs Pengilly left for a honeymoon at Cheltenham. Among the presents received were a present from the bride’s employer, Mr Beck, at Scott’s Bakeries, Stibb Cross, and an electric wall heater, bathroom heater, soup plates and a pyrex dish, from the bridegroom’s workmates at Messrs Leetes, of Bideford. The cake was made by Scotts Bakeries.
