The marriage took place at St Mary’s Church, Bideford, of Mr Clifford John Palmer, eldest son of Mr and Mrs A Palmer, 2 Stanhope Terrace, Bideford, and Miss Sheila Margaret Bliman, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs D J Bliman, 3 Barton Tors, Bideford.
The bridegroom is a member of the Appledore Inn darts team. The Rector, Rev T Derwent Davies, officiated and Mr J R Trigger accompanied the hymns. Bridesmaids were the Misses Alexandra Palmer, Caroline Bromell, and Tracey Little. Andrew Little was the page. Mr Stuart Palmer was best man. A reception was held at the Royal Hotel, Bideford.
Among the gifts were an electric clock from the management and staff of Jaquemands Ltd, where the bride is employed, and blankets and towels from the bridegroom’s employers, J Leete and Co Ltd, and fellow employees. Mrs Jean Green, a friend of the bride, made her dress and the outfits of bridesmaids and page.
