The wedding took place on Saturday at Appledore Congregational Church of Mr Christopher Hamilton Curd, of Kilmorie, West Yelland, Fremington, and Miss Marjorie Godbold, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs W Godbold, of Engeldene, 29 Myrtle Street, Appledore.

The Rev W E Haggett officiated, organist was Mr J Beara. Bridesmaids were the bride’s sister, Suzanne, and the bridegroom’s sister, Ann. Best man was Mr M Green. Following a reception at Durrant House Hotel, Northam, Mr and Mrs Curd left for a honeymoon in Jersey. 

Among presents received were a silver cigarette case and table lighter and a barometer from the staff and management of Appledore Shipbuilders Ltd where the bridegroom is employed as a draughtsman and a cheque from Messrs Fulfords of Appledore, where the bride is employed.  On leaving the church the bride was presented with lucky horseshoes by Miss Sharon Lang and Suzanne Carney. The cake was made by Raymonds of Barnstaple; the flowers were supplied by Trumps of Barnstaple; and the arrangement of flowers in the church was by Mrs A E Powe, of Appledore. Full Gazette article dated 5 April 1968
