First election for Landcross 22nd June 1979
The tiny parish of Landcross goes to the polls for the first time ever on July 5th to elect just one parish councillor. Mr Sherborne, who is 76, is well known to the Bideford electorate where he has made at least 15 attempts, only one successful, to get on both borough and district councils.
There are three candidats for one vacancy. Standing against Mr S Turner of Spinney Cottage, and Mr J W Stevens, a newcomer to Landcross.
