Cousins Brides At Hartland Double Wedding - 7th April 1967
A double wedding took place at St Nectan's Church, Hartland.
The two brides, Miss Nancy Beer, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs A L Beer of 1 Natcott Lane, Hartland and Miss Heather Dayman, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Dayman of 98 West Street, Hartland, are cousins. The Vicar of Hartland, Rev. F H Lockyear, officiated. The organist was Lorraine White.
Miss Dayman married Mr Barry Lyndon Davies, youngest son of Mr and Mrs O L Davies of Barry, South Wales. He is a playing member of Bideford Rugby Club and his bride a member of the Hartland Drama Group, and one of the Les Girls of Hartland's concert party. There were five bridesmaids - Misses Linda Downie, Christine Prouse, Melanie Beer, Debbie Bateson and Judy Fanson.
Miss Beer was the bride of Mr Roy Richard Stowell, youngest son of of Mrs K E L Stowell and the late Mr J Stowell of 120 North Street, Hartland. The bridegroom is a member of Hartland Football Club and the bride, like her cousin, is a member of Les Girls. The five bridesmaids were Betty Stowell, Claire Stowell, Nicola Jeffery, Lindsay and Kerry Higgins. The bridegroom's brother Terry was best man.
Following a reception in the Church Hall, both couples left for touring holidays.
