Tomorrow is the golden wedding day of Mr John Thomas Mitchell and his wife of 1 Stucley Road, Bideford.

Mr Mitchell is 78 and his wife 72. Before their marriage at St Mary’s Church, Bideford, Mrs Mitchell was Miss Ethel Louise Ackland.

Mr and Mrs Mitchell have a son and a daughter who are twins – Mr John Mitchell, of 49 Western Avenue, Appledore, who is a shipwright with Appledore Shipbuilders, and Mrs Joan Stevens, of 52 Pynes Lane, Bideford.

The golden anniversary is being celebrated with a party at their daughter’s home.
