A profit of £15 6s. was made as a result of a whist drive organised in the Village Hall by Alwington Conservative Association.

Mr L G Elston was MC and Messrs J Hillman and J Wickett the door stewards.

Prizes were presented by Miss E Tickner to Mrs E M Cork; Mrs H Hillman; Miss P Beer; Mrs C Hedden; Mrs Gilbert; Mr J Withecombe; Mr R Boundy; Mrs E Whittaker; Mr D Daniel; Mr Parr.

Competitions were won by Mr S Brimacombe, Mrs J Hillman and Mr R Boundy.

Refreshments were served by Mesdames G Boundy, C Pickard, C Nichols, E Taylor, H Hillman, G Lewis and Miss E Tickner.
