The wedding has taken place at Frithelstock Parish Church of Miss Lena Gerry, only daughter of Mr and Mrs W Gerry, School House, Frithelstock, to L Cpl Sidney F C Adams, Royal Military Police, only son of Mr and Mrs S R Adams, Rakeham Cottages, Frithelstock.

The Vicar, Rev A C Hunt, officiated and Mrs W Dawe was at the organ. Five bridesmaids attended the bride. The chief bridesmaid was Miss Violet Lock. The four small attendants were the Misses Elizabeth Bond, Irene Heal, Judith Adams and Margaret Bond. Sergt W R Adams was best man and the ushers were Mr Keith Gerry and Mr Kenneth Adams.

A reception was held in the Church Hall and was attended by 90 guests. Mr and Mrs S Adams left later for Torquay for their honeymoon, for which a cheque was received from the bride’s employer, Mr W G Bond.
