Second misfortune within a year
Fire, which broke out at Richmond Dry Dock premises of Messrs. P.K. Harris and Sons., Appledore last week did thousands of pounds worth of damage. This is the second such misfortune to occur at the firm’s premises in a year. On June 21 last year a similar type of building in another part of the yards was destroyed by fire.
The gutted building housed power plant, saw mills, joiner’s shop and a rigging shop with boiler marker’s shop adjoining.
