Schoolboy plays Jim Hawkins

Long John Silver, parrot on shoulder, puts a protecting arm around young Jim Hawkins.

In the photograph taken during the filming at Appledore of shots in the film ‘Treasure Island’ are Mr William Harding as Long John Silver and schoolboy Brian Tilke as Jim Hawkins. Also in the group, second from left, is Mr A. Huxtable, also of Appledore.

Young Brian, who lives at 6 Tomouth Road, Appledore, has since received a photograph of Bobby Driscoll, the American boy film star who played the part of Jim Hawkins.
