Replica for 'Treasure Island'
The 158-ton diesel schooner Ryelands owned by the Plym Shipping Line, is being converted at Appledore into a replica of the Hispaniola for shots in the film ‘Treasure Island’ by Messrs. P.K. Harris and Sons.
The original crew of the Ryelands with their captain Mr W. Cox of Northam will work the ship but local men have been engaged as ‘extras’ to set sail etc. for film shooting.
