Friends gather at his favourite boyhood spot
On the fifth anniversary of the publication of the citation announcing the V.C. in the London Gazette a large party of personal friends of Mr Martin Coles Harman, owner of Lundy, assembled in the ‘ V.C. Quarry’ named by Mr Harman as the spot which his son made his playground.
Lance-Corporal Harman was 29 when he lost his life in action in some of the bitterest fighting of the Burma Campaign in 1944.
