Illustrating local architecture
Fourth year pupils of Torrington Secondary Modern School have constructed in cardboard and wood a composite group of models based on a representation of Torrington Market Square to illustrate local architectural features of 1851.
It has all been made at school and represents a good deal of application and education which the pupils have entered into with zest. The models include the Town Hall, ‘The Black Horse’, the Old Coffee Tavern (now Tickle’s garage), the Bell Inn (Green Lantern Café), Blatchfords etc.
