Hunting on Boxing Day
Mr John Jewell, of St Giles, has been hunting with the Stevenstone and the Torrington Farmers’ Hounds ever since he was a young man. Now aged eighty, he is a field Master of Torrington Farmers’ Hounds and is undoubtedly one of the oldest, if not the oldest, active hunting official in the country.
Despite the bad weather he turned out as usual for the Boxing Day meet of Torrington Farmers’ Hunt, where this picture was taken.
