Torridge flows through 36 parishes
That the Torridge rises in Cornwall on the same ridge as the river Tamar may come as a surprise as well as the fact that thirty bridges cross it during its 50-mile length.
Above is a sketch plan with which Miss S.L. Hutchinson introduces her pictorial study of the river in water colours exhibited at Bideford School of Art under the auspices of Bideford Festival of Britain committee. Visitors have included a large proportion from the 36 parishes through which the Torridge flows.
