Bideford pupils on a fortnight’s exchange visit to London

Twenty-three pupils of Bideford Secondary Modern School are in London for an educational visit. They come from a wide area served by the school, including Clovelly, Appledore and Northam as well as Bideford and are going on an exchange visit with the same number of children at the Kilmorie Secondary School, Forest Hill, London whose headmaster, Mr Robert B. Hills, was a teacher evacuated to Bideford Secondary Mordern School during the war.

If this visit is a success it is hoped to make others an annual feature of Bideford Secondary Modern School’s programme. The pupils are a cross-section of the school, ages ranging from 11 to 15. For many of the children it will be their first visit to London.
