Celebrating Lundy's bird-life
The forthcoming issue of a new series of air mail stamps for Lundy have been designed and drawn by Mr John C.A Dyke of Fairy Cross, near Bideford. The stamps have the dual purpose of revenue producing and assisting the visitor in the identification of bird life on Lundy’s rocky cliffs
With the disappearance of the postmaster as a Lundy official, charges were made to cover the cost of conveying mails to and from the mainland. Every letter or parcel leaving or incoming must have the island’s stamps added in addition to ordinary stamps to cover the cost of conveying mails to the island.
