New roller for Bideford streets

The newly-purchased hand operated vibrator roller of Bideford Surveyor’s department was doing a ‘good job’ of road patching in Market Place last week. It won its spurs in the re-making of Cooper Street which was a first-class result and proved the common-sense of the right tool for the work.

Weighing only 6 cwt. the roller using its vibrator can exercise pressure of up to 12 tons, it is claimed.
