Allhalland Street – then and now!

The photos above show Allhalland street of 50 years ago, and when compared with the recent photo below, it will be noted that there has been little structural change but a great increase in the number of little shops of varying interest.

25 July 1952 Allhalland Street then and now

In the centuries that have passed this was the street so well-known to the sailors who used the port and to the townspeople . Long before the Quay as at present was built, it was along Allhalland Street the people went from the High Street to the Town Hall, the Grammar School, the Parish Church and the Bridge.
