Westward Ho! in the past

Believe it or not, it is Westward Ho! a venue for town planners past and present.

The artist who made the drawing reproduced above, has apparently used a considerable amount of licence, but one or two of the buildings can be definitely identified. The large building on the right is the then Royal Hotel (now the Golden Bay) and next to it is the Church and the small building beyond is Manorville.
