Procession for St Nectan's festival
Carrying foxgloves, children from Hartland and Welcombe took part in a procession at St Nectan’s Church, Hartland, on Sunday morning.
Foxgloves grow in profusion in the parish and the carrying of them at the festival of the Saint arises from the legend that when robbers beheaded St Nectan foxgloves sprang up where his blood was shed.
