Medallions for Bideford Mayor and Mayoress

Two medallions were presented to the town at Bideford Manor Court, the lower one for the use of Mayors, being the gift of Mr Stanley J. Bowen (a London-Bidefordian), and above it that to be worn by Mayoresses, the gift of the Mayor (Mr C.A. Grant in commemoration of the Coronation of Elizabeth II).

Both medallions were made locally to the design of Mr W.J.A. Corke, principal of Bideford School of Art.
