Gazette celebrates 100 years

The infant Gazette, which was first published as a monthly and then became a weekly, soon began to build up its circulation. Today it is estimated each issue is seen by some 30,000 people actual copies sold having increased by over 50 per cent since 1939.

Today, a home of ships, a busy main road, and a pleasant promenade, Bideford Quay is all these and more .

The magic of far-away places and strange-sounding names is still to be found along Bideford Quay which was reconstructed in its present form 64 years ago.
