Heavy snow in Hartland

Part of the legacy of last week’s blizzard which swept with particular violence over South-West Hartland, Welcome and Woolsery districts. The top picture shows typical drifting of snow in a farm gateway; the bottom picture is of the road between Elmscott and Docton banked by cold avenues of cleared and drifted snow.

But spring approaches! In the snow at Hartland on Sunday the early primroses were to be found.
