New admission to Bideford hospital
One of the latest ‘admissions’ to the Kingsley Hospital, Bideford, to receive care and attention is a mushroom.
It is believed to be a record size. Found by a member of the hospital staff in the corner of a nearby field, it weighs 1lb. ½ and is oblong in shape, measuring 11 inches by 8½ inches across the top. Its stalk is four inches long. Nurse P. Marshall is shown holding the mushroom in the picture. It provided the matron and staff with ‘delicious soup!’
