Now approaching Weare Giffard
The North Devon Water Board’s mains are seen here approaching Weare Giffard. By the end of May many of the villages will be enjoying a piped supply to their homes for the first time. The pipe line through the village comes via Monkleigh as a branch off the trunk main and the total cost is estimated at £23,900.
In other parts of the district the branch main from Little Torrington had now been laid to beyond Buckland Brewer with offshoots to Frithelstock and Monkleigh. Mains were laid in Parkham and the link between Buckland Brewer and Parkham would be completed by the end of May.
