A behind-the-scenes glimpse of the show
Sixteen months ago, under the leadership of Mr E.G. Shaw, who takes first and second year art at Bideford Secondary School, a group of pupils interested in marionettes was formed and this week their efforts have come to fruition with a show which has received an enthusiastic reception from hundreds of Bideford schoolchildren.
The marionettes are 24-inch high models and are constructed from papier mache, balsa wood, cardboard etc. Music is supplied by radiogram and piano and all the dialogue has been written by members of the group who comprise: Pat Beer, Pauline Found, Maureen Williams, Tony Petherick, Michael Roberts, Brian Taylor, Bernard Toole, Dennis Waters and David Wolfe.
