Only two members of the ‘Hound Dogs’ – Alan Curtis and Bill Stoneman – can read music. The others play by ear. Eighteen year old David Beer, who acts as the groups compere, plays a skiffle board – just an ordinary washing board. The East-the-Water Community Centre gave the group their first break at a recent dance.
