Mr Martin's harvest not so hard hit
A thankful farmer is Mr J. Martin of Woodhouse Farm, Torrington, for although he agrees that this has been the ‘worst harvesting season for years,’ some of his crops have not been so hard hit by weather conditions as others in the surrounding area.
Mr Martin is seen pictured above cutting barley which is standing fairly well despite the recent bad weather. ‘We have been luckier than many farmers I know,’ Mr Martin added. ‘A good deal of stuff has been spoiled, but the general situation for me is better than I expected.’
