Queen Mother visits Lundy
Bearing the signature of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, which she signed during her informal tour of Lundy on Sunday afternoon, this scroll on vellum becomes the island’s proudest possession.
The scroll is the work of Mr John Dyke of Fairy Cross, the island’s artist, and on the side panels he has included drawings of some of the most notable features of Lundy. The lower half of the scroll (not included in the picture) contains the names of residents and those closely associated with the island.
