Eight hatched at Bideford

Eight tiny tortoises hatched from eggs that were buried in sand in an airing cupboard for three months of Misses Rosemary and Joy Greenslade of The Nook, Chudleigh Avenue, Bideford E.

Last summer one of the 13 large tortoises in the garden laid her eggs.
