Bideford children safely cross busy road
These children from the infants and junior schools in Coronation Road, Bideford, can now feel quite safe as they cross the busy main Bideford-Clovelly road four times a day.
After five years’ advocacy a Clovelly road crossing patrol has been sanctioned by the County Council . Mrs E. Scoines of Grenville Estate has been appointed warden, competently taking charge of the children.
‘I like my work very much – especially when it is fine. In wet weather she has been supplied with wellington boots and a thick raincoat. ‘The only trouble is my hat,’ she added. ‘It’s far too big!’
