Baby llama arrives
First inmate to be born at Bideford Zoo is this llama, son of Larry and Yma. The baby arrived on Sunday and has been named Julian – after July. He is proving a big draw with visitors. His father is well-known – perhaps notorious would be a better word. That is because, with unerring aim, he can spit into the eye of some unsuspecting bystander at a range of six feet.
The zoo continues to expand, due for completion in about a week is a huge cage that will accommodate a family of rhesus monkeys.
