From the steps of the Bideford branch of the Westminster Bank
one can look down the Quay to Bideford’s famous 600 year old bridge. That visual atmosphere has now been pictured inside the banking hall. This week a 12 foot long photographic mural has been erected.
The photograph was taken by Castle Studio, Torrington, and enlarged by a specialist firm. The mural was fixed to the wall by Messrs. Shapland and Petter and then came the finishing touches by Mr R. Newbold, the photographer, seen at work in the picture above. Watching him (left) is Mr K.E. Taylor, the branch manager.
