These are the six boys who made up the Bideford County Secondary School patrol
that took part in the gruelling Ten Tors expedition on Dartmoor. They finished the 35 mile walk covering ten tors in under 26 hours’ walking time allowed and each received a medal and certificate. Ten Tors is a test of map and compass reading ability, stamina, commonsense and initiative.
The boys are (left to right) Brian Smith (15) of Fremington; team leader Stuart Lane (15), Kevin Stach (15), Christopher Brackstone (15), David Hughes (14) and Roger Humphrey (15), all of Bideford.
