Jeremy Thorpe opens new lounge bar

Liberal leader Mr Jeremy Thorpe officially opened the new £2,500 lounge bar at Bideford Liberal Club on 9 January. He congratulated Mr Reg Trott, chairman, and committee on their vision in bringing about “this wonderful improvement”. He also paid tribute to Mr W.G. Potten who not only dispenses the drinks but also played a large part in the drawing up of the plans.

Mr Thorpe then ‘pulled’ the first pints.
