Some of the local girl footballers who tonight are competing for the title of North Devon Soccer Personality Girl.

With the title goes a prize valued at £10.
The occasion is the first annual dinner of the Legs Eleven ladies FC of Appledore, at the Westward Ho! Holiday Centre. An attendance of 450 is expected.
In the picture are: Barbara Riley, Liz Lawrence and Diane Moore, who play for the Shammy Tigers; Rosalind Smale and Christine Hale, from Bell Bombers; Janet Pearson, Liza Stanbury and Anne Powe, of the Legs Eleven team. Another entrant, Juliet John, of Legs Eleven, was unable to be present when the photograph was taken.
These girls will be joined tonight by two entrants representing Clarke’s Shoes and three from the North Devon College. The panel of judges will be: Mrs Sandra Isaac, Mr Alan Higgins (Westcountry Inn, Hartland), Mrs Sheila Starke (manageress of the Durrant House Hotel), and Mr Phil Day, Editor of the Bideford Gazette. Compere will be Mr Hugh Mortimer.
