A father and son, Arnold and Peter Fulford, won the Bideford Bay foursomes golf competition over the weekend. They registered 71 points.

The Stableford bogey event was played over 36 holes – 18 holes at Saunton on Saturday and 18 holes over the Royal North Devon links at Westward Ho! on Sunday.

Results: A A Fulford and P A Fulford, 71 points; G Harris and T H Jones, 69 points; A Hoyle and A W Neve, and P Brennan and C D Squire, 68 points.

Winners at Saunton: A A and P A Fulford, J F Dennis and J E Land.

Winners at Westward Ho!: G Harris and T H Jones, and Mrs I Langdon and Mrs G Thorburn.

Best ladies’ score: Mrs D Jewell and Miss G Lucas, 63 points.
